    Fleck 3150 on GAC filter - upgrade to metered?

    I have a GAC filter with a Fleck 3150 that runs on a timer, and backwashes even when water doesn't get used. Is it possible to upgrade it to a metered setup that runs on actual usage? This GAC feeds a softener system with a Fleck 9500 that has a meter, and that saves me a lot of salt already.
