    Grundfos Pump Advice Needed

I've found a Grundfos 10SQ07-240 for a little over $1,000 including shipping. My well is 170 feet deep. My present 3/4 hp pump is set at 160 feet. Static water level is 55 feet. I am a little worried that the pump guys around here might not want to install a pump if I source it myself. I...

To CSV or not to CSV.

I'd have to do a lot of digging to do it that way. As I understand Valveman's #42 post, (....Then tee after the CSV and elbow from that tee around and back to the line to the barn.) I'd be digging all around the electrical main supply line elbow. I'm not sure I want to do that.

Found it. Water line is under the electrical line tho. The well's electrical service is the corrugated line on the right of the water line while the house main electrical sevice is the large gray line on the left with the red marker tape lying on top.

Thanks. Me too. I've spread it out over a few days, but the deeper I go, the harder it is.

By Valveman: You could disconnect the line to the barn. Install the CSV on the line to the house. Then tee after the CSV and elbow from that tee around and back to the line to the barn. Which CSV would I use? The CSV1A which I already have?

I must be almost to the water line but I gotta be careful and not damage it. I'm down 28 inches from ground level, and have hit gravel--we bedded the water line in gravel when we buried it, so I know I'm close. I have a valve box 17X12, and enough 3" extensions to give me 24 inches of depth...

The pitless adaptor is 49 inches down from the top of the well casing. I can't see how a CSV could be installed there. But am I wrong?

I could lock the barn hydrant out and never use it again. I have 3 other hydrants at the house, and hoses are cheap.

I’m down 27 inches, but haven’t completely uncovered the T connection that comes out of the pitless adaptor, and then splits—one arm going to my house and the other arm going up to the barn, where my pressure tank and a single hydrant are located, but it is beginning to look like there’s not...

Thanks Cary. Now my well casing does have a pitless adaptor installed, so the water pipe doesn't come out the top of the casing. So I'm hoping the PK1AM will work OK. We shall see how it goes. I think the simplest thing would be to send everything back to you, BUT I WANT THE CSV TO WORK...

    Grundfos Pump Advice Needed

My current pump is a Stay Rite, 3/4 hp, 230 VAC pump. I'm thinking the 10SQ07 would work, but I'd like confirmation from a pro before I buy it.

    Grundfos Pump Advice Needed

Many years ago I worked for a solar company and we sold and installed solar hot water systems, not solar electric systems. We used Grundfos pumps exclusively cause they were so well built and lasted so long. So my well pump has been cycling badly for a few years--in my defense this is my first...

Thanks Cary for all the information you are trying to teach my old brain. What do you think about my using a 40 gallon tank instead of a 10 gallon tank, given that I live alone and most faucet/toilet/shower uses will be more than 2 minutes apart. Would the 40 gallon tank cut down appreciably...

To CSV or not to CSV.

I'm rethinking my need for 10 gallon tank to use with my CSV. I am the only person living in my house, so most water usage inside the house is more than 2 minutes apart. When I shower, or water my garden or fruit trees, that's when the CSV will pay off. So I may replace my current 40 gallon...

To CSV or not to CSV.

Many years ago I worked in the solar industry, and we sold Grundfos pumps. I was impressed by how well they were constructed and how well they worked. So given that my present pump has apparently been cycling for years, I suppose I'll be in the market for a new pump at some point--CVS or no...

To CSV or not to CSV.

I don't hear a sales pitch. I hear Valveman explaining how his system works. I remember when I first got my well drilled and asked here for pump advice, he advised me to look into getting a CVS. I had so much on my plate then that I just didn't have the time to fully explore the CVS. So I...
