Relocating vent and Joining ABS to PVC??

Thanks, looking at options. Every way I turn there seems to be an obstacle, I love renovations!. I think I might have another solution and could go straight up and the angle it to get through the ceiling.

Relocating vent and Joining ABS to PVC??

Crawled under and as expected plans fell apart. I have an HVAC duct in the way that I need to address first. I did see a diagram of a vent and they rolled a tee 45* to have the vent pipe move to where they wanted and then used a 45* to send it vertical.

Relocating vent and Joining ABS to PVC??

I'm not a plumber, just a handyman homeowner. I have seen PVC joined to ABS and read about how it's only allowed at the transition from the home to the septic line. I didn't think it would be a problem on a vent but rather know what's right. If I remember correctly PVC must be primed but you...

Relocating vent and Joining ABS to PVC??

Relocating vent and Joining ABS to PVC??

I tried to load my pics of what I have now but it said the file was too large. The trap arm was about 12" to a tee. The bottom of the tee had an elbow which connected to the drain line. The upper exit of the tee went straight up through the roof as a vent. I can use a 45* on the drain line...

Relocating vent and Joining ABS to PVC??

By trap arm I guess you mean the 2" pipe that leads from the shower to the main drain. Can I put a 90* in that line to get it into position where I can go vertical straight up? That would be possible.

Relocating vent and Joining ABS to PVC??

Not exactly sure what you mean. My plumbing is under the floor and that's where I need to go horizontal then vertical then horizontal back to vertical. The first horizontal will be above the drain line it is plumbed into by about 8". Only reason for the PVC to ABS is PVC I can get 2 mi from...

Relocating vent and Joining ABS to PVC??

Bathroom renovation and need to move vent that goes up through the roof. I will need to elbow it under the floor to go through the adjoining wall about 1 ft. away and then go up into the attic and elbow it back to the section that passes through the roof. Would that be a problem at all? It's all...

What product do I need to seal around rooftop vent?

If you pull the boot you could use a coupling and glue another piece of pipe on and the coupling would be below the boot. I've used Lexel products and "Through the Roof" sealer, the name says it all.

    Suggestions on Shower Faucet

Yeah, I've gotten sticker shock over the price of faucets and the only thing anyone cares about is what finish or trim. Don't know if anyone else notices but the Google ain't what it used to be especially with the AI suggestions that many times are incorrect. I guess part of the problem is we...

    Suggestions on Shower Faucet

I called Delta and Moen today for some recommendations, should have asked the guy working the window at McDonalds drive thru. I have had success with Delta standing behind my kitchen faucet that I purchased at Lowes. It's about 25 mi to Lowes or HD so wanted some ideas before I went. I'm a...

Did grandparent's coal-fired steam heat boiler also heat domestic hot water?

Ours did in the house I grew up in, Not a lot of hot water. Even worse when the coil went bad and my Dad bent soft copper and made a coil. Very happy when I was older and moved back and replaced all of the galvanized plumbing and put a water heater in.

Polybutylene to PEX B transition issue

A transition connection from poly to PEX should be a temporary repair until the poly can be replaced which is why you wouldn't find many different types of fittings. Sharkbite does make a special poly to PEX fitting as the standard fittings don't work with poly.

    Manufactured home water heater

We really don't see much difference in operating costs, just 2 of us and electricity is reasonable here. 240v is required so I ran a line and put a breaker in and a disconnect at the water heater, pretty simple and straightforward. Besides I sleep well knowing I don't have a gas water heater in...
