Where can I look for plastic arm and rubber ball that make up the flapper on my 3.5 gal tank? No name visible. And they connect to a built-in holder on the floor of the tank, with two ears to secure it.... Any ideas?

How about a picture of what you're looking for.
With the tank lid off, there should be a brand name and a tank number.

If you have a plunger nearby, you might consider not investing more time or money into your old toilet. New 1.6 and even 1.28 gallons per flush tend to flush better than the old 3.5 gpf toilets. You will probably not need to keep a plunger nearby.

The more energy you invest in the old toilet, the longer you will have it.

But yes, a picture may help you identify a fix/replacement for your flush valve.
