Had to replace the air switch at the pump on my Sterling jetted tub. As I had to pull the pump out I started looking at things and am wondering how safe it is after reading about them while troubleshooting the switch. I have the owner's manual which shows how to clean it but don't have the installation guide and couldn't find it online.

Here's what I found tracing it out:

Power is coming from an outlet serving the adjacent room. A GFI outlet is in the adjacent wall and power for the tub receptacle was pulled from that. That outlet is fed by a 30 amp breaker that has little else aside from a few outlets on it. Putting one of the GFI testers in the tub receptacle the lights show that it's wired correctly. When I press the test button it pops the GFI outlet in the adjacent room and kills power to the tub receptacle.

The pump ground lug has a wire connecting it to the tub receptacle ground.

The pump was tie-strapped to a block of wood to hold it in place. There are rubber bumpers on the bottom of the pump legs to cushion it. Are they just shipped like this and a bracket should have been used or is this how they're supposed to run? I have it tie-strapped back in place and it doesn't move but I question that it should be this way.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Well I found more information on here about the ground lug on the pump assembly. It's for bonding and needs to be ran from that lug to the supply lines and drain pipe if I understand correctly. I have an older home with copper supply lines and metal drains.
