Marijuana for recreational use and jokes about it. Seriously. I'm so tired of the out of state comedians that think their act is so funny talking about Marijuana and the States that allow it, so therefore the entire populace must be stoned out of their minds. Sorry to break it to these guys, but it ain't happening. Legal or not legal, it doesn't seem to make a difference. The people that liked the stuff still do, and the ones that don't want to be bothered by it still don't.

I think it's one of those things that not everyone likes to do. There are plenty of things in the world to take up time and space, and not everybody likes the same things. I don't smoke cigarettes, cigars or joints. I don't understand why some people do. And there has always been access to these three things. I like to hike, and that's free to anyone, and there are plenty of people that think that's just a horrible thing to do. But I like hiking, going up steep mountains, sweating a lot and getting tired. But I'm glad that's not what everyone likes to do either, or there wouldn't be any parking spaces at trail heads.

I like the fact that they make it legal, just for the simple reason that being illegal never stopped anyone, and I hate the idea of paying taxes to lock up people that never bother or concern me. It's the ones drinking hard alcohol that worry me. Things can get a little crazy there.

But the jokes are killing me. That and the jokes about their lack of a love life. I don't really want to hear that stuff. If you have a horrible dating life, counselling maybe, joking about it at a club while people are out with friends hoping for a good time, I don't think so. I'm sure if these guys work on it, they can come up with funny stuff that doesn't include dumb stuff like drugs, which to me is just kind of sad anyway, and their love lives. That's sad too. I don't want to laugh at your misfortune. Maybe get out and do some walking or biking. Something physical and/or constructive.

I'm in Washington State. Home of micro brews and good coffee. That's what I like. But even those things don't make for good jokes either. Or do they.

And on the way there. Okay, now I have to make a dump run and get the van ready for plumbing tomorrow.

Those are some beautiful scenes.

But really, I'm curious about people thinking that hiking is bad. I've never heard of that. It's been awhile since I've hiked or backpacked much. Maybe things have changed.

I'm just saying there are many opinions on everything. And yes, I've heard people comment that hiking isn't something they would do. I love it though.

To me, hiking would be like work. Hiking is something I do when my car breaks down or runs out of gas. I wish I could get pleasure from it, but it's not my thing. I live an hour away from the starting point of the Appalachian trail, but I'm not even tempted.

Sure, can you take time off work, when it takes 6 months to complete?

I've run into hikers doing the Cascade Trail, from Mexico to Canada that had the time off because they were disabled. They were hiking 10-15 miles a day.

I had to send my employees to classes and they were told if they had pot in their system they would be banned from working on gas piping.

Now the democrats including the low life governor along with DRUG addicted politicians passed new guidelines

New York City Ban On Pre-Employment Marijuana Testing ...
www.marijuanamoment.net
May 11, 2020 — As of Sunday, many New York City employers are no longer able to require pre-employment drug testing for marijuana as a part of the hiring ...

So what if a drug-addicted employee screws up on gas piping who is found guilty? The Employee? NEVER Happen

What if a pothead is driving a company truck and kills someone is the boss responsible?

Will the insurance company cover the costs?

"Under the commission’s proposal, workers who use heavy machinery, spend a significant amount of time at a construction site, work with power or gas utility lines or use a motor vehicle on approximately a daily basis would still be subject to pre-employment drug testing for cannabis."

The New York City Commission on Human Rights proposed a rule, which was published in The City Record on Tuesday, that

When the City Council first approved the legislation—which was enacted without Mayor Bill de Blasio’s (D) signature last year—it included language carving out exceptions from the prohibition on testing for those applying to certain jobs such as police officers and people charged with supervising or caring for children, as well as positions “tied to a federal or state contract or grant.”

The law, which goes into effect starting May 10, also exempts jobs with “the potential to significantly impact the health or safety of employees or members of the public.”

To that end, these new proposed regulations from the commission seek to explain exactly what constitutes such a position.

Here’s who would still be subject to pre-employment drug testing under the proposal:

1) People in jobs that require them to regularly be on active construction sites,

2) those who regularly operate heavy machinery,

3) those who regularly work with power or gas utility lines,

4) those who use a motor vehicle on approximately a daily basis and

5) those for whom impairment “would interfere with the employee’s ability to take adequate care in the carrying out of his or her job duties and would pose an immediate risk of death or serious physical harm to the employee or to other people.”

I don't understand why you would judge someone for what they choose to do at home away from work this covers PRE-EMPLOYMENT not randoms or when someone you believe to be under influence.
You do understand how a bill is approved right? Just because it was proposed by a Democrat doesn't mean he just proposed it and it passes. Everyone votes and majority wins. That means even some Republicans voted yes. Companies do random testing daily for alcohol and drugs at entrances and I'm sure everyone knows that thc metabolites are harder for our body to pass. Because believe it or not you yourself have THC right now in your body. It's naturally occuring that's why tests for Marijuana have a certain cutoff to be declared negative.

If someone is impaired by drugs, alcohol, and causes an accident who is held accountable?

People with professional licenses are held to a higher standard and when an employee gets into an accident with a vehicle and found to be under the influence the employer is the one who is sued and deals with the insurance company

Regarding your remark

"There are no self made millionaires, anyone who says they are, has hurt many people in pursuit of wealth."

This shows a lack of thinking, as someone who does not appreciate all that America has to offer

I am a SELF MADE millionaire even having quit school at 16 most of my fortune was made in sewer and drain cleaning as it offers an amazing profit ratio

One of my employees started working for me about 5 years ago and he is from Albania and after a year I was paying him $125 PER HOUR and I decided to give him a partner in one of my companies I still maintain 51% in the companies I own

He is here seeking political asylum and last year he bought his 3rd house 2 of the three houses are multi-family for income and he plans on buying at least one house a year

His wife also learned to "speak English" and started her own company 5 months after her husband started to work for me and has her own office and employees

I noticed a lot of people are sneaking into America but very few sneak out I wonder why?

If an employee is generating a profit it would not make any type of sense not to reward them and get rid of dead wood that thinks they are "entitled" to free food, public housing and are allergic to hard work as socialism is a proven failure as well as communism as it takes away someones ambition to improve their lot in life by starting their own company

Yesterday I decided I wanted to go out in the field and I, made $600.00 for less than 11/2 hours of work (including traveling time)

The work I did was water Jet one main sewer working alone and I figured if I can do it at 73 there is NO EXCUSE what so ever that someone in America is unemployed if they are not disabled or lazy or playing the victim card

People who say "they can't find a job are liars as this is a great country and if someone can say in English "Would you like fries with that order sir" they can find a job

Possibly not the career they wanted but at least they are productive members of society not sponging off society and saying how hard life is

My "Foreign-born" employees were here on work visas seeking asylum had no problem finding work and everyone was paid over $25 per hr

Most of these people came from Brazilian and one from Benin and now own their own company

My new employees are from the Dominican Republic and Albania and are legally here

One thing I discovered while construction was shut down in Washington state, but I was still doing jobsite meetings via zoom and I had set up my office outdoors by the fire pit.. I got to enjoy a few tokes! I usually don't smoke anything except when I'm camping with my friends.. so I went into my VW camper and busted out the stash!!

The last backpacking trip I went on with a friend/client was in the highly covetted Enchantments where you have to win a lottery to backpack in the Core zone.. We managed to win the lottery! Was an amazing 5 days!

A recent trip up to the top of Mt. St. Helens with Mt Rainier and Mt Adams in the background in 2019. There were thousands of monarch butterfly at the top swarming and swirling around! My girlfriend broke her arm on the descent close to the bottom.. oh.. we used drugs to dull the pain for the 5 hours that it took to get off the mountain and into the hospital to have her bones moved back into place.. prior to surgery.
