I want to install an outdoor, condensing, tankless water heater to replace a 20 year old tank-type that's on its last legs. Easiest installation would be in the same location as the old one to make use of the existing connections. (Current tank-type is outside, in a metal enclosure, which I'd remove for the tankless.)
I've read and read all the information I can find online but I'm still not sure whether it needs to be 1 foot or 4 feet from windows and doors (or something different.) Installation is in Los Angeles city.
If it's 1 foot, I can use the same location. If it's 4, I'm out of luck.
Does anyone know for certain what the distance needs to be?
