Furnace Ignitor failure

Changed this board was not spark igniting. Worked right away, why would it fail

Electronics can and do fail over time. It can be due to a number of reasons. Surges and spikes on the line voltage can cause either immediate failure or long-term degradation of electronic components that eventually leads to failure. Also, there can be manufacturing defects that eventually cause electronics to fail in service. The two most common are cold solder joints and low-quality electrolytic capacitors.
