Good question. There are homes around here that someone plumbed in that. I don't hear a lot about it though.
I've seen the Qest plastic stops failing though.
If it were my home and it was exposed I would want it gone.

House is a nightmare. 1.5 abs supplied kitchen, tub and basin. No vent. No aav. All 90s and tees for horizontal drainage. most fittings were an 1/8th in and smothered with glue. So im iffy about water lines now
