Hello all, I recently decided to change my laundry room sink, in doing so I found this AAV and backflow. the rise on the washer drain is too short.
I have a main always closed backflow but I'm still concerned about the AAV....does it stop water in the case of a back up? The AAV should not be so low, would it cause any problems if I raised it to about 5 feet or put it right up into the joists? I also have my main plumbing stack about 8 feet away I am starting to think I should just vent into the main.
Some clarification would be greatly appreciated on this matter.
Thank you.
