Hi All,

First time post for me looking for some help on a new home I purchased. Appreciate any input.

I have 3/4 copper main branching off to 1/2 copper for fixtures..pretty normal.

My question is...for my hose bibs I have the 1/2 branch off the main, however it connects to a 3/4 Sillcock, shouldn’t this be 1/2 sillcock or a 3/4 continued line off the main to the sillcock for pressure / volume reasons?

Thanks for your responses.

With short lengths of pipe there is really no problem. I'm assuming the 1/2 to 3/4 is right at the sillcook. At the time maybe all the plumber had were 3/4 inch. I prefer 3/4 inch because they are a little more robust. Also the seat washer is usually a little bigger allowing less flow restriction.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
