Hello,

Just finished upgrading a shower drain to 2", I cut out the 3x3x 1.5 wye and replaced it with a 3 x3x 2, I used 3" shielded no hub couplings . I am weekend warrior, I dont own a 60 lb 5/16" torque wrench, looking for suggestions on how much to tighten the screws without damaging the clamps.

Thanks much

When the metal strips start to twist, it's tight enough. It doesn't take much with a 5/16" nut driver by hand.

They also make a tool just for that, around $8-$9. Stops tightening when it hits 60 ft/lbs. For small projects it's a lot cheaper and easier to use in tight spots than a mechanic's torque wrench with dial/gauge etc... Big home improvement stores should have them (this one's from Big Blue).
