Sometimes the wrench just squeezes the plastic and makes it tighter. You need a strap wrench or something that puts pressure all the way around, not just in a couple spots. Might also be able to loosen it with a rubber mallet tapping the flats to the left.

Everyone. I wanted to say thanks for the input! I replaced the AVC today. I got it loose with boiling hot water on a rag around the AVC and a 3' pipe wrench :)
The old one is ready for a good CLR bath :)

I hope you used a lot less torque. I always lube o-rings with silicone grease.
