Thin Wall, Not Enough Room for Wire Distance From Wall Surface

1. If an interior wall cavity is only 2 1/4" what is the best way to run wire and still meet the distance requirement from the interior wall surface? Is there a code compliant way to do it inside the wall cavity?

There is no "distance requirement" from the interior wall surface. Wires that pass thru holes in framing will
of course have to have approved protection plates installed if the holes are less than or equal to 1 1/4 from the
face ot the stud.

Sorry, 1 1/4" from face or framing member is what I was referring to. Is metal conduit accepted inside wall cavity?
