4" hubless repair help - middle of run

Will that no-hub coupling slip all the way onto the cut off pipe so that I can drop the repair piece in place, flush up against the cut-off ends, and then slide the couplings half way over the repair piece? Know what I mean? In other words, if I slip 2 no hubs only half way onto the cutoff...

4" hubless repair help - middle of run

I need to remove and replace a short section of my buried 4" CI main waste line. Seems to me I'll need the hubless couplings to slide back over the existing to allow me to place the repair piece, then slide the couplings back over thr repair piece. What couplings do I need to do this?

    Will flux corrode copper pipe?

A plumber told me today that flux left on the outside of copper pipes will corrode the pipe over time. Is this true?

water in riser....how do i sweat solder?

. The riser was at the lowest point in the system and would never have drained. There's no galv in the system so I wasn't worried about knocking crud loose, and at 100 psi and 2 open hose bibs, one upstream and one down stream, I had no concern about damage from the pressure flush. Keep in...

water in riser....how do i sweat solder?

The shut off valve is working fine. The problem is that the copper is near the floor and the water remaining in the lines after shutting off the man is putting head pressure on the riser. I fixed the problem: I opened up 2 outside hose bibs and used my compressor to blow out the remaining...

water in riser....how do i sweat solder?

I want to sweat solder an elbow onto a riser....problem is after shutting of the house water there is standing water to the top of the riser, as a matter of fact is is dripping slowly out of the riser. How do I solder the fitting with water in the pipes? I think the steam will prevent the...

How do I extend my faucet flex supply lines?

Would you mind posting a picture of the 3/8" x 3/8" compression couplings you refer to? The end of the braided hose comming off the faucet has a 3/8" female fitting with a rubber washer....doesn't sound like a compressing fitting to me. Thanks.

How do I extend my faucet flex supply lines?

I miscalculated and placed my angle valves too low and now the faucet supply lines won't reach....shoulda bought the faucet first. Can I buy supply line extensions? If not I guess my choices are to remove the compression angle valves, elbow the copper up a few inches....don't wanna do this...

Can I solder a copper to brass threaded connection?

So where can I buy high quality copper pipe & fittings?

Can I solder a copper to brass threaded connection?

OK, thanks....that's what I thought. It's the connection from a shower riser to the PBV. Should have swetted the joint, instead swetted a threaded copper connector onto the riser and threaded that assembly onto the PBV. I was concerned about overheating the PBV and damaging the cartridge...

Can I solder a copper to brass threaded connection?

I've got a very slow leak from a threaded connection: copper female, brass male. I'm unable to tighten the connection with a wrench. Teflon tape was used in the threaded joint which might be a show stopper for soldering. I was thinking it might be possible to burn the away tape, then swet...

Help!! How do I connect the overflow and drain assy to my new kohler tub?

Guys, I like your idea of installing the waste and overflow first, , and then installing the tub. The problem is that we're installing a 60" 316 lb cast iron tub in a 61" alcove....not an easy task to pull and reset the tub if we need to adjust the wast/overflow alignment. I think I may have a...

Help!! How do I connect the overflow and drain assy to my new kohler tub?

Once I set the new tub (Kohler Villager) in place I have virtually no access to the overflow and tub drain assy. How do I connect these without cutting a hole in the wet wall and accessing from the adjacent room? I must be missing something obvious?? Or, is this a near impossible task without...
