    Replace icemaker saddle valve

Thought I’d update - after a long series of mishaps the technician finally came today and oddly enough it appears to be a freezer issue. He ran it on some kind of demo mode and the water pressure at the ice maker was surprisingly strong. If the tweaks he made today don’t work they will be...

    Replace icemaker saddle valve

No water dispenser and no filter in the fridge unfortunately, so no additional clues there. The last time I used that line was about two years ago when we first moved in - turned on the ice maker, determined that it just leaks water into the freezer in a giant puddle instead of making ice cubes...

    Replace icemaker saddle valve

I really, really hope it is. The previous fridge had an ice maker that was broken when we bought the place so I was SO excited to finally have a functioning one… and now this. With everything going on in the world this is the epitome of first world problems, but if I have to go back to using...

    Replace icemaker saddle valve

Thanks again. I have a service call with the fridge manufacturer scheduled for Monday - the only thing that’s throwing me off is that the first couple of batches of ice came out fine, so I want them to double check that it’s not a fridge issue (wouldn’t low water pressure have been a problem...

    Replace icemaker saddle valve

Thanks Terry! You’re making it sound not too intimidating. Any idea if that would help with water pressure to the fridge?

    Replace icemaker saddle valve

We replaced our fridge yesterday and the new one is giving an error message showing not enough water supply to the ice maker. I’m guessing it has something to do with the saddle valve that’s at least 15 years old and should probably be replaced sooner rather than later. A few questions: 1. How...

How bad is this? Offset flange in concrete floor

So after measuring again it appears that we have a 12” rough in toilet with a slim tank and that whole flange situation. Why on earth did they not just put in a 10” toilet?? This makes me think that fixing the flange is going to be more of a problem than I had hoped.

How bad is this? Offset flange in concrete floor

Thank you for the response! Sorry, I should have clarified - these pictures were taken when the plumber was here. The baseboard is 3/4” thick however the toilet base was fitted with a narrow tank so I assumed it was already as small as they could go and still too big for our pipe. I am a...

How bad is this? Offset flange in concrete floor

We had a toilet leaking at the base and here’s what the plumber found when the toilet came off. The way they explained it was that the rough in was too short for our 10” Kohler, and the proposed solution was to jackhammer in a new pipe (we’re on a concrete slab) to the tune of $3K. When I asked...

    Toto Washlet+ T40 on a T20 toilet?

Toto is going to be the end of me! Finally narrowed things down to the toilet I want and the Washlet I want - both are Washlet+ so should be a breeze, right? Well turns out for the recent S500/550e series they moved from T20 to T40, aka the hole is now slightly lower than it used to be. Of...
