    Kitchen sink slow drain

JHY, Thanks for the pro tips! Unfortunately, the only tip-end I have is the standard coiled design. I'm not sure of the best way to use it to remove soap grease that's probably on the walls of the pipe. Any suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated.

JHY, Thanks for responding. Was this a soap-grease clog? Did you use a 1/4" snake? Was the general purpose head used or an arrow head or u-shaped grease tool? And how many times would you estimate you ran the snake in and out? My wife was extremely careful with what she put down the drain...

    Kitchen sink slow drain

Reach4, Thanks again for the reply. To be able to run water while I snake the drain, what if I remove the vertical and horizontal pipes from the non-disposal sink then slowly run water down the disposal side?

No, the kitchen is on a concrete slab. Thanks for the reply, Reach4.

    Kitchen sink slow drain

Reach4, Thank you for your reply. I went with your suggestion and chose "Dayton Sewer & Drain." On Dec 16, 2022, the employee corrected the slow kitchen-drain issue; he used a 110-Volt portable handheld plumbing snake auger (with the general purpose tool attached to the cable). The receipt...

Can someone please tell me how to find a "drain cleaning specialist" versus the much more expensive plumber? Thanks.

Steve W, Terry, Tuttles Revenge et al, Please provide your thoughts on whether snaking through the roof vent using the 1/4" electric driven snake with the general purpose tool on the end would be large enough to clear the "gunk." Thanks.

I'll look into Bio-Clean. Thanks everyone.

Unfortunately, the vent is not a straight shot, so I won't be able to use the drain bladder approach. Thank you, Reach4, for your time and effort in submitting your response.

That's a great idea, Reach4! However, I no longer have the 1/2" Eel snake, with the u-shaped finishing tool. (Also, the unit is probably too heavy for me to put on the roof.) Based on your experience, do you think the 1/4" electric driven snake with the general purpose tool on the end would be...

Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to run water while snaking the line. Note: When we pulled out the Electric Eel snake, the u-shaped tool on the end had black sludge/bacteria on it. (We snaked the line twice with the Eel.) Thanks for the reply TR.

    Kitchen sink slow drain

We have a slow draining kitchen sink (first occurrence in the 37 years we've lived in the house). Everything else in the house drains fine. We've tried the following: 1. Snaked the line with a 1/4" electric driven snake to 25 feet (general purpose tool on the end). 2. Snaked roof vent pipe...
