Hot water lines hammering

My hot water lines are banging when faucets are shut off. It doesn't happen with the cold water. It seems to be at or around the hot water tank. I have a system 2000 with a 40 gal tank that came with the system. Ive drained the tank. Not sure if the expansion tank has anything to do with it...
