Can you lubricate Pfister cartridges - when the handle is hard to turn?

Thanks for the video and photos. They help validate the ones I've seen online. From your reply, do I assume correctly that there's nothing to access or lube INSIDE the cartridge (like there is with Moen cartridges)?

Can you lubricate Pfister cartridges - when the handle is hard to turn?

Thanks. Are you referring to the two oval o-rings on the back of the cartridge (opposite the handle side)?

Can you lubricate Pfister cartridges - when the handle is hard to turn?

Is it possible to lubricate Pfister faucets/cartridges? I've done that for years with Moen cartridges -- turn water valves off, pull the cartridge out, remove the center shaft, lube the o-rings with silicone grease, reinstall, good as new. It's much more economical than buying a new valve every...

    Recommended basic tub/shower faucets?

I think this thread veered off topic. My original post was to get recommendations for good tub/shower faucets. I was expecting replies with brands and models. The first reply did that, but none of the others. Can we try again? Please read my original post and reply with your recommendations...

    Recommended basic tub/shower faucets?

This forum steered me to an awesome new toilet (Toto Entrada). I'm wondering if the same thing can happen for a replacement tub/shower faucet. I want to have an old Delta "ball" faucet replaced. It's the kind where you pull the "ball" up or down to change pressure while turning it to change...

Caulking technique - smooth with wet finger or don't touch?

I'm ready to caulk the base of my new toilet. I don't caulk a lot, and I always debate whether it's better to use the "wet" technique where you apply the caulk then smooth it out with a wet finger (dipping in clean water often) or use the "dry" technique where you just apply the caulk, hope you...

Flange not fastened to the floor at all?

Aaargh. So, I get the flange fastened, get the toilet in and everything's working great... until I'm checking for leaks and feel a little water where the shutoff valve connects with the galvanized pipe come to of the wall. I go to tighten it little and the leak gets worse. I tighten a little...

Flange not fastened to the floor at all?

Or not fastened at all, like in my case? Sounds like I definitely should fasten it. Had I known it was NOT fastened before, I would have fastened it before installing the toilet. Ugh. I read a couple places it's best to use stainless steel screws in this case. Would you agree? Now I'll go...

Flange not fastened to the floor at all?

I was just about finished replacing the toilet that's been in our house since we moved in over 20 years ago. Imagine my surprise when I started tightening down the closet bolts, the toilet started snugging up, I kept tightening, but the toilet wasn't getting any tighter. I decided to test what...

    Proper flange bolt/washer/nut order?

I'm going to install a new Toto Entrada very soon (replacing an existing toilet). Jamie's installation instructions in this forum are excellent. However, I have one big question. What is the proper order for putting on the flange bolt, washer(s) and nut. I'm not clear about what goes below the...

Entrada, Eco Drake or Drake II?

First, thanks to everyone who responded to my first post on this forum. I'm grateful for your knowledge and insights. I've been super impressed by this forum since I started considering Toto toilets a couple years ago. You folks are amazing! Second, I've decided to get a Toto, but I'm having a...

Questions before I get a Toto Drake...

Hi Reach4. I don't quite understand "...is not sufficient if the water stays at that higher rim level...". Can you clarify that? What water level should I expect to see if I looked in the bowl of a Drake after a normal flush?

Questions before I get a Toto Drake...

Thanks Terry. Why do you mention the Entrada? Why is the 1000 gram rating significant?

Questions before I get a Toto Drake...

Additional information... The Toto Drake toilets at work have the bright green E-Max valve assembly and a gray flapper. Original parts as far as I know. The chain does look a little slack. Also, it has a white sleeve (about 2" long) on the chain near the flapper. By the way, I didn't install...

Questions before I get a Toto Drake...

Thanks for your quick replies. Related question... In your experience, when the toilet is flushing the designed amount and flushing is complete, how high is the water in the bowl compared to the location of the rim/indent that's about halfway down the bowl? With a normal flush (just press down...
