Terry...I did call the city plumbing inspector, and he did say they use combos rather than T's on their back... Thanks guys for all the advice!

Akpsdvan...that is the way we had it originally with a T as the vent, but I was gathering from folks here that I needed a combo for that vent. I did talk to the permit folks here today, and the plumbing inspector agreed. We are out of the city jurisdiction, but we still have to have a private...

Okay...so I posted a few days ago asking about venting a toilet with a small almost horizontal run before going vertical....Here is what we are left with....what needs to be fixed, what doesn't work...etc. Thanks guys for your honest advice! :) Jill

I'm talking about the 4" to 2" fitting that is draining the sink into the main stack.

I don't know....? Does it have to be higher than the highest fixture? Or just 6" greater than the flood line of the fixture it's venting?

So this won't work... :(

Hi guys/gals, Another quick question....is it okay to use a combo for our bathroom lav 2" to go into the vertical 4" stack. I see most folks use a santee when entering the vertical stack. We've already dry fit ours with a combo....is that okay? Thanks in advance!

I agree....but we've never built a timber frame....it's one big learning experience! Hind sight is always 20/20....We will frame it on the outside and side it to match the rest of the house. It will just add dimension!

Just saw this picture online while trying to figure out code worthy ways to vent our toilet. I was under the impression that the vent has to go vertical until it's 6" above the flood rim of the fixture, then it can jog horizontal? We are very limited on space, so this idea was appealing...

We have a 4" stack and a 2" vent running vertically next to the stack; our kitchen sink is the last fixture on the top. What do we do with the 4" and the 2" above the sink as far as venting goes out the roof? Thanks all.... J
