Hello, I am trying to replace an old American Standard chrome + gold trim kit with a newer brushed nickel finish kit but the American Standard models available today do not work. The valve is different, which is surely due to how old the current kit is.

Can someone help me identify the model of this trim kit? Is there a universal replacement option or anything I can do to replace the kit without having to do a complete overhaul of the pipes? I’m hoping to find the model so that I can contact customer service to see what my options are. Thank you!

Late 80s to mid 90s was the chrome/polished brass phase.. No clue on model but im sure someone will be able to chime in on it.

I spoke to customer service and they said it's a 7211 series Hampton. It's discontinued, so the only option is if the current cartridge is held by 3 screws I can swap it for TU model + cartridge A954440-0070A. If it has 4 screws I can't do anything.
The problem now is that it's so rusted I can't even get past the shell to see the cartridge and how it's mounted with screws...

If you can remove the handle you can see the model you have. The 3 screw is the R111 shown above. The 4 screw is Ultra Mix with a brass stem.

I just unscrewed the handle to see and it appears it is the 3 screw R111, which is great news because according to American Standard, I can replace R111 cartridge with A954440-0070A and then any new TU model trim kit!

You're lucky too since Polished brass and Gold tones are in fashion again!

What you see is the A954440-0070A. Any of their Flash trims will work. You will not be able to use the cartridge that comes with it.

Apologies for resurfacing an old thread. Curious to learn if you ever managed to replace the cartridge and find a replacement trim kit. I’m considering doing the same and curious if the cartridge needs to be replaced and then which trim kits does the new cartridge work with. I’m surprised to see all “TU” trims would work.
