New house with THIS as our shower drain. Help

Six month old new build Riverside Homes Builder. Half a million dollar house with fiberglass molded shower with pan. I know, we were desperate.

I popped off the white shower drain cover to clean it and found this! I can see straight down into the P-trap. I suppose it's a P-trap or else it's just a straight pipe.
Builder sent a plumber over today to look. Plumber said he'll be back tomorrow to cut the white pipe then put on a rubber gasket.

Thoughts? Please and Thank you!

Normally you would see a nice clean cut on the 2"PVC and a rubber donut to seal around the pipe that gets pushed in.

Thank you. I guess that's what plumber means when he says rubber gasket = rubber donut. To seal it.

It's bottom floor slab. But now I'm wondering......what kind of damage could be under there since we've used the shower like that with the gap between pipe and pan, for 6 months?? Any ideas if it's ok to plug it up now or should be do something else. ie; remove / replace pan or try to spy down there somehow and see if there's mold or gray water etc?

Water into the dirt below. I doubt that it was much of a of a problem.
Were you able to find a sea for that? Push that in and I think you're done. A little liquid soap helps it slide in.

I typically put a tub box and install trap after walls are up . sometimes its open to the dirt underneath . might be a way to make a hole in wall and run camera in. I'd Document , send email to builder and plumbing company , in case problem arise , of course have them come out with moisture meter or go buy one. probably dry now but I'd test it Can't imagine a builder with out the meter Its possible it was concreted off and some mold action going on but .
