If you have registered as a user here, you can post your questions by first entering one of the many forums, and after entering you will see "Post New Thread" at the top right like in the picture above, of course with your username and not mine. Clicking on that will start the process.

When joining the forum, you will be asked for your location. This helps us to know local weather that you're dealing with and local codes that inspectors will be expecting you to know.

I add an avatar of your state or province to begin with. Sometimes a country if you're outside of North America. You can add your own avatar too. Sometimes when I notice someone has been posting often, and then I may change it for them to something else. Here are a few examples of ones I've used.

Hello! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this.
My dilemma is:
There is a drain in the basement of the house my wife and I just bought. We found out later, that when there is a heavy rain water will raise from the drain. We were told that a simple cap and a sup pump will fix the problem. Could there be more problems with the pipe leading to the city sewer line?

Well in my area, Springfield Missouri, the city comes in and puts backflow preventers in to prevent this from happening. You yourself need to put a backflow preventer in either outside of the foundation or in the basement itself to prevent drainage from coming in the wrong way.

Hi Terry
Will do.
Didn't realize that needed to register on different forums.

Just so I understand. My profile I set up 4 months ago doesn't follow to other forums?

Thanks
Jeff

I've been trying to post a thread, but am not seeing it in the forum. When I look at my activity I see them crossed off. How do I go about posting this, this is what my activity looks like.

Edit, see the message on this post that it needs moderator approval. Makes sense, thanks.
