So, I can never leave well enough alone. Here goes. Late 80s built house, rural Texas, originally had conventional septic. Years ago, a grinder tank was installed when county gave that option. One main line goes out of house that has the toilets, the bathroom sinks and one shower hooked to them. It runs several feet and ties into grinder tank. There is a clean out right outside of house. About a foot or two from grinder tank is another clean out. Another line runs into that mainline somewhere after first clean out. That lines drains kitchen sink, washer and a shower. I know this because when those are draining, I only see water in that clean out. THERE ARE NO SLOW DRAINING OR BACKED UP DRAINS! Problem, gurgling in kitchen sink when washer drains. Getting a little worse with odor.
Plumbing vent for washer, kitchen and shower. One more for other plumbing fixtures. A tub was replaced with the shower that is connected to the washer and kitchen. The drain was moved. I can see that the drain pipe goes down interns which I am assuming that pipe runs into the old tub drain. I hear a constant echo of dripping water inside the kitchen drain. I am wondering what the solution to the gurgling and the echo drip is and I'm wondering if that is actually how that drain should have been installed. Wow this was a long saga for something that really isn't broken!
