Hello all,

I rerouted my flue today for a State 50 gal power vented heater. Did nothing but turn the switch off. Now tonight it will not fire. The pilot is still on, never went out. The fan powers up as normal. Just no main burner.

Is it possible the thermo coupling could go bad and the pilot stay on? In the morning I can start testing the circuits but thought someone might guide me.

It is time to replace the unit anyway but if I can get it to run for a few bucks it buys me some time to arrange for the new install. (installed in 1991 and worked flawlessly until today)

Thanks,
Chris

That is a real , real old gas power vented unit probably dating back to about 1985...

you are extremely lucky that the unit came back on .......

I suggest you start saving your pennies
because its only a matter of time before that unit goes bad...
how about a picture of the serial number on that one....

Me and Terry could take bets on the actual age of the unit....

my guess is 1987.....

The original post mentioned:

"installed in 1991 and worked flawlessly until today"

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and bet it's 1990-1991. ;)

Well shoot, I did not read the whole first post,

so you just had to go and spoil everything--

I am willing to bet that its old stock-----
