NEED HELP WITH PRESSURE SWITCH

Recently replaced the tank on my shallow well,while I went to town a buddy played around with pressure switch on jet pump and now the 2 adjusting nuts on the pressure adjusters have been turned all over and now I need to know if theres a way to get both back to a factory 20/40 setting or do I need to replace switch?

Loosen the small adjuster until the nut is not touching the spring. Then adjust the large adjustment nut until the pump shuts off at 40. The on maybe only 17 PSI lower, but that is ok. That is the easy way to adjust the switch.

Ok,tried that and had to keeping adjusting nut every so often until i got to 40,but switch just keeps cycling off and on,so adjusted down small nut and pressure went up 3 or 4 more lbs but then switch just kept cycling.Did take pressure switch off and check for debris but was clean,tank has 18lbs of air pressure with no water pressure,pressure switch was working fine on old set up but tank leaked so replaced tank and tee off tank,i must have something wrong somewhere

Let the tank down to 15 PSI. Sounds like your tank bladder is stuck to the bottom.

That was going to be my second idea. But I thought letting some air out of the tank would be easier. After a second look you have a check valve between the pump and motor, so moving the pressure switch to the tank was the only way to fix it.
