Vent drain overflow

Just moved into a new house built on a steep hill. Washing machine (12 year old Maytag) on upper level of home. Toward the end of the drainage/spin cycle of the washing machine, I get overflow (intermittently) from the vent drain in the floor of the basement. Toilets working well and no other plumbing or drainage problems occuring in the house. Septic tank cleaned out 9 months ago. Roto-rooter has snaked out the drainage pipes with both conventional snake and water-jet snake 3 times in past 3 weeks, and they feel they have gotten good results with this. But the overflow continues to occur on about 1 out of 3 washes. They are stumped. Ideas?
