We recently bought a house and in the process of preparing for the installation of a radient floor heating retrofit we tore out the sheet rock ceiling.
When the rock was down I discovered that the previous owner had drilled several holes within what I understood to be the safe distance of 2.5 inches from the edge of the 12 inch joist and had notched several others to accomadate pipes. The holes range from coaxial cable size to 1 inch copper pipe size. How much of a problem is this?
What should I do to fix it? (short of making some lawyer rich)
Thanks in advance
