: I would not use 3/8" tubing to feed a fixture. 3/8" size tubing is only used from the fixture shut off valve to the faucet, toilet fill valve, etc.

The International Plumbing Code allows you to reduce one pipe size if you're running PEX, but this is questionable to plumbers that are constantly dealing with lack of volume. The builders feel the 3/8" line will save money but I won't do it. LonnythePlumber
