: : I'm remodeling an old house with PEX using the homerun system and manifold. A lot of articles say that you can reduce pipe size by an 1/8 inch when using this method. Therefore I have chosen to run 3/8 tube to all fixtures in my master bath/laundry area. Anyone have any experiences that would suggest bumping some of the fixtures up to 1/2 inch? Fixtures include: washer, toilet, 2 sinks, shower/no tub : Reply: The International Plumbing Code allows you to reduce one pipe size if you're running PEX, but this is questionable to plumbers that are constantly dealing with lack of volume. The builders feel the 3/8" line will save money but I won't do it. LonnythePlumber |
