In response to Re: Bath tub drain
: : I'm remodeling the bathroom and have romoved the bathtub. I was planning on putting in a Lasco 2 piece model in its place. My problem is from the back wall to the drain is 13 1/2". Most of the new tubs are from 14 1/2" to 15" to center of drain. I was unable to verify this prior to reomoving the cast iron bathtub and would prefer not to have to resurface or put a liner. Is there a cost effective way to move the drain, or do just need to call the plumber.

The drain trap usually needs to be relocated to accommodate a new bathtub or shower stall, rarely will the old bathtub drain trap line up so it can be used. The degree of difficulty will depend on the conditions, piping materials, access, etc.
