It is a straight shot across an unfinished room to the drain but will need cut a channel in my basement floor. What would the best way to cut the concrete channel and how difficult? What would be a reasonable charge to have it done professionally?

Before you start the project, make sure you will have enough pitch on the drain piping heading towards the tie in point, on 30' you will have a 7-1/2" drop based on 1/4" pitch per foot.
If that's not a problem, get a few estimates on what it will cost to cut/trench the cement for the channel.
