qwik Jon back up

my qwik jon 102 backed up twice in a year. IT is wet vented to an existing horizontal sewer line. There should normall be water above the check valve on the discharge line holding it closed. So, I suspect I am getting a back up thru the vent. The sewers on the first floor never back up. I quess the question here is 1 what could be causing the back up. 2 if is the vent is the main sewer line backing up or is the qwik jon the cause. The system is only 3 years old.
