|In response to Re: Secondary vent stack from horizontal waste run?|
There is no reason not to do it, although it will not normally vent any of the fixtures you mention, or at least no more than the toilet and shower if installed properly.
: I am in the process of plumbing a master bath/laundry above a large great room. I want to install a second vent stack solely for this new room (sink, toilet, shower, washer). All of the fixtures in this new room will be connected to a waste pipe that travels horizontally through a chase in the ceiling below. I would like to connect a vent pipe somewhere on this horizontal run. Is there anything wrong with this? Most information that I have found shows the vent stack connected to the vertical main wast stack.
