: :Chopping holes in floor joists big enough for 3" toilet line is not a good idea. A general contractor could give you the exact allowances based on the size of the floor joists you have. This is usually a major undertaking. I presume it is a general contractor and not a plumbing contractor that said it won't be a problem. Often I need to cut a san-tee in below the existing toilet waste and run the piping below the current joists. Requires a lower ceiling.LonnythePlumber |
