|In response to Re: Why do faucets leak?|
: : Besides a bad valve seat or a bad washer, are there any other reasons that cause a value to leak? I have replaced both and still have a leak. Did I maybe use the wrong kind of washer?
: Bent stem, seat replacement inadequacies or handle meeting escutcheon and preventing stem from closing all the way are additional reasons. LonnythePlumber
The threads where the seat mates with the faucet body is a leak point from over tightening and strecthing the threads.
