ABS does not use a primer. : : I just did some ABS plumbing work and didn't follow the instructions on the glue correctly - I put the glue in the socket only and not on the pipe. Nothing is leaking but should I be concerned with pre-mature failure? I did the 1/4 turn to ensure coverage. Funny, I read the instructions I just didn't see the part about putting the glue on the pipe. I should have known from my PVC sprinkler work to do this. The pipe is for a shower trap and drain line under slab. : : Thanks for your input! : I guess if you did prime it properly and used a lot of gllue there should not be a problem TEST it is you can. : This is another reason I like CI/ copper as you know right away if your going to have a failure. : If your really concerned, just cut it out and redo the job as plastic is really cheap and call back cost a heck of a lot more.
