replacing a toilet - determining rough in size

We just purchased a 102 year house and want to replace some poor-flushing toilets. I want to purchase some Toto toilets, but before I do want to make sure I'm ordering the right thing. Is there a way I can determine what size rough in I have without removing the existing toilet? The tanks of the existing toilets seem to be right up against the wall (maybe a 1/4" gap between tank and wall at most). Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give. I'm looking forward to flushing toilets with ease!!
