And what would an attorney do? Sue God for not changing the rules so that falling water would be silent? : Terry, : We've changed out to quieter low flow and even old "regular" toilets. We've opened the walls up, wrapped the 3.5" cast iron pipe with a sound insulating putty and then added more insulation from toilet and tub drains on the second floor to the basement....and virtually no improvement in the noise level. : It sounds like someone is standing on the second floor with a 5 gallon bucket and dumping down between the walls. : We are hearing this in the cast pipes throughout the house. All walls that contain drain pipe runs are framed at either 6" or 8" framing. : I need some suggestions......other than call the attorney
