Hi Jimbo, As you know the boiler room normally not only comes under the building department but the local fire codes.
Most of my training is in the ASME section IV and the NBBI.
The NFPA is also getting involved in boiler room protection as many cases there were no fire sprinklers.
Most of it is common sense like an emergency switch outside the boiler room and it should have CO detectors if Gas is the fuel being used
The flue piping would be under local code or CS or older AGA requirements.
The list owner would go ape if I went into all the details or boiler safety and installation and placing into service.
