If it were a cast iron system, they make special fittings that allow the two to be "stacked" and still have a vent for the lower one. They do not make the same thing for plastic drains, however. : Terry, thanks for the input and the great picture. I always thought "stacked" toilets ran directly into the main stack but obviously not.
