That is for the incoming water. Without knowing how the drain line would be run, there is no way that an air gap could be pre-installed on the outlet hose. : : You need an air gap placed in a conspicuious place above the flood level of the connection. : Some of the newer APPROVED dishwashers have an air gap built into the D/W. : Check inside the appliance
