The weight of a person could allow the fiberglass? to flex and break the water tight seal where the strainer attaches to the shower unit. You could also have hairline splits in the base. Have a pro check it out for you, this sounds like a tricky one... e-plumber

It is possible it only leaks from the strainer when a person is standing in the shower.
