: Hi, : I am in the process of swapping out my old hot water tank for a new Rheem 40gal Electric unit. I get a very small leak around the hot out connection. I am using a 3/4 to 1/2 brass thread and no matter how many times I re-wrap it with teflon tape the small leak won't stop. The cold line in and the pressure relaif are fine. Is there any thread sealing compound I can use or something else. : Thanks Hi Alex, I sure hope your not talking "bushing" If your going to reduce you can use either a 3/4 x 1/2 reducer. Then use a 3/4 Brass nipple and either C/M adapter on the 1/2" discharge side or use what ever it is your connecting too. Bushings have no wall thickness and are prone to cracking |
