Size the piping for natural gas and you will not have any problem. The pressures will be preset, either by the propane supplier or the natural gas utility. Water heaters cannot be converted between the two fuels.
I will have to construct a home with Propane service right now. In the future I'll get natural gas service in about 5-10 years. Other than changing the orifices etc. in the appliances, can I use the same piping system for the Propane as the natural gas? What pressure is propane regulated to?
