good quality plumbing fittings

Hi Terry and all,

The quality of plumbing fittings available to me has been going downhill for a long time.
I'm talking about Copper, Brass, CPVC and other materials for shut-offs, tees, elbows, etc.
Threads aren't right, valves leak, there are large pits in castings, etc.

The plumbing aisle guy at the big box told me to try a fitting and if it didn't work, bring it back and exchange it till I got a good one.
Even my local plumbing house is now carrying mostly imported, cheap fittings.
I prefer not to treat my customers as guinea pigs.

What brands can I count on being good quality out of the box?
Any online suppliers you can reccomend?
