|In response to Re: Leaking toilet tank|
: I put one of those chlorine tablets in my toilet tank, since the packaging said it was safe for toilets. Now I've noticed that the toilet "refills" every couple minutes or so - seems like the rubber seal around the drain is slowly leaking. Did the chlorine tablet damage the seal? What can I do?
Replace the tank bulb/flapper
Get a flashlight and look down the over flow tube to see if any water is flowing
IF you want to use a "dye" instead of using harmful chemicals use instant coffee inside the tank and wait a minute or two to see if it shows up in the bowl. If not (no dye showing then flush several times and let the tank flush totally clean.
