: The simplest thing in the world. Go buy a gallon of muriatic acid (a mild acid which can be used to clean metal and also white calcium residue off bricks. Pour the acid down the well and have a cap to put on the top of the pipe (screw the cap on). Let the acid work overnight on the point. When you hook the pump back up, run the pump for several minutes and liberally soak the area where the dilluted acid came back up so as not to damage your grass. It will make the screens sparkle
