I have a 1978 Harvest Gold bathroom too, and I was faced with the same decision. Instead of replacing the fixtures which worked just fine and which were also of excellent quality, I replaced the floor with light beige linolium, replaced the cabinet under the sink and countertop, and repainted the walls a light color. I accessorized (sp?) with gold towels, rugs, etc. With all that, the bathroom turned out really nice, and who knows....those colors just might come back in style. Good luck.
