: The 2" might be OK, but why not go with at least 3"? Unless there is something you posted earlier about a space problem, it just doesn't make much sense to push the drain capacity to the limit. Labor would be essentially the same to install 3" and materials are not that much difference either.

The reason for not running 3 " is a space problem.The original installation the "plumber ? cut notches in thetop of the floor joist and then laid the floor over the pipes.They left little or no drop either in a 6"span .The floor joist are 2x6 so esentially without any additional shoring up they are 2x4 at the cut but there is room to reface and resupport where the cuts are.Thanks everyone for the responces
