It would be very odd for a well system to not be capable of increased water preesure in the range of 40/60 psi. And if that were the case, it would be a problem with the pump not being capable of the higher 'head' of the system.

: I stand corrected. However in our area, some drillers do put in pumps that are under-powered and with fewer stages to avoid over pumping a well that is a low producer.
That would do it! Or if they only size the pump for the pumping level plus a bit and the water table falls very far.
